What a Difference a Wheelchair Accessible Minivan Makes!
This family received great attention and care from Chris Gomez, Mobility Consultant with MC Mobility Systems in Dayton, OH to select the best vehicle to meet the needs of their family. With their grant, they were able to complete the purchase of a new minivan with a BraunAbility conversion and Q’Straint wheelchair tie downs to easily and safely transport both of their sons who are in power wheelchairs. Jacob and Tommy’s family wrote the following letter:

We just want to say thank you so much for your friendly and knowledgeable assistance in finding our family a new handicap accessible van. What a difference this new van has made for our family! Our oldest son has Becker Muscular Dystrophy and had a heart transplant nearly 3 years ago. His walking ability has became less and less, He has a power chair that made travel extremely difficult. Before we had the dangerous task of lifting him into the van. Now, he can just drive right in! Our youngest son also has Becker Muscular Dystrophy. He will be getting his power chair soon and safety is no longer an issue while travelling. The National Organization for Vehicle Accessibility is amazing! We are so thankful for the grant made available to families like us! Thank you so much for improving our lives and the lives of other families in need.
