Instructions to Mobility Dealers

These grants offered by The National Organization for Vehicle Accessibility are intended to assist clients who have had equipment identified to meet their needs and have consulted with a dealer to acquire equipment.  Your clients are eligible if the sale of the equipment is stopped at this point because the client has been able to fund the larger portion of the equipment but still needs a little help to complete the acquisition.  It is imperative that proof be submitted to demonstrate that all available avenues of funding have been exhausted.   This must include letters of rejection from appropriate funders.   If a person has committed to a sale it is understood that they have the means to fund the project.  These grants are intended for folks who cannot fund the sale another way.  Only complete applications will be accepted for consideration.  You must be a retail dealer certified by NMEDA and the client must be from your geographical area.

As the dealer representative for the applicant you will act as the initial screening agent for the grant process.  Please do not encourage people to complete the application if you feel that they have other funding opportunities open to them.  Because NOVA does not have unlimited funding we are unable to fund a large number of projects and want to help people who are truly in need of assistance.  Please carefully screen your clients and only encourage folks for whom this will make a real difference.  Be advised that this grant is intended as a supplement to other grants but will NOT fund equipment already fully funded by Vocational Rehabilitation, VA or other government agencies.  Grants may fund 25% of the actual cost of the mobility transportation equipment.

Only equipment that is deemed needed and necessary to meet the needs of the client will be considered for grant assistance.

Applications will only be accepted online.  Please do not print and mail forms.
