Matthew and His Parents Enjoy Their New Van
Matthew’s parents purchased a new minivan but his problem still wasn’t solved because his Dad had to carry him into the van and disassemble his wheelchair for transport. His parents appealed to the National Organization for Vehicle Accessibility for assistance in converting their van for wheelchair accessibility. Matthew’s parents worked with Sunset Mobility in Miami to apply for the needed assistance. Matthews’s Mother wrote the following note to The National Organization for Vehicle Accessibility.
“Matthew’s Christmas was very blessed thanks to the generosity of caring organizations like The National Organization for Vehicle Accessibility and the Agency for Persons with Disabilities. Matthew’s long awaited wish finally came true and he received the conversion he needed for his new van. As a family, we are overjoyed every time we witness him roll into his new van with a smile on his face. Matthew’s independence has gone from zero to one hundred. With the touch of a button he is able to go anywhere he desires. This is PRICELESS! Even the simplest errands, like accompanying Mom to the grocery store are now a reality. This accommodation is exactly what Matthew needed to explore his world in style. Thanks again for making our lives better and happier.”
